To further enhance our efficient use of resources and reduce environmental impact, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Specialist MSAT (w/m/d) 100% to join our team to lead the design and implementation of a solvent recycling initiative within our manufacturing processes.

 

Position Overview:

As a Process Specialist MSAT, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a solvent recycling initiative aimed at reducing waste and enhancing the sustainability of our peptide and oligonucleotide (tide) manufacturing operations. Your role will encompass evaluating current processes and material flows, conducting research, developing innovative solutions, and overseeing the seamless integration of solvent recycling processes. You will be working with a cross-functional team, coordinating activities, managing resources, and driving and ensuring the successful implementation of the project. This position requires a strong technical background in chemical engineering, project management expertise, and a passion for environmental sustainability.

 

Your tasks:

Solvent Recycling Initiative Design, Implementation and Optimization:

  • Understand the existing solvent usage, material flows and waste management processes.
  • Identify opportunities and develop a detailed plan for implementing solvent recycling initiatives.
  • Collaborate with R&D, process engineering, and manufacturing teams to evaluate and select appropriate recycling technologies.
  • Establish, compare, and evaluate business cases for internal and external recycling opportunities.
  • Analyze the potential for utilizing recyclates internally within our manufacturing processes.
  • Assess the feasibility, quality, and compatibility of recyclates for internal use.
  • Maximize resource efficiency and minimize environmental impact by conducting cost-benefit analysis and environmental impact assessments for recyclate utilization.
  • Support in identification of potential customers using solvent waste as resource.
  • Oversee the seamless integration of solvent recycling processes into existing and new manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate closely with a team of skilled engineers to implement the designed initiatives.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of the solvent recycling systems.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

Project Management:

  • Coordinate activities, manage resources, and ensure the successful implementation of the solvent recycling initiative.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, including scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Monitor progress, adhere to timelines, and report project status, risks, and key performance indicators.

Research and Development:

  • Conduct research studies to explore new technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in chemical engineering taking into account environmental sustainability.
  • Apply scientific principles to design and develop innovative solutions for process improvement.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to chemical manufacturing and waste management.
  • Collaborate with internal quality assurance and environmental health and safety teams to maintain high standards.

 

Your profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proficiency level in English and German oral and written.
  • Strong technical background in chemical engineering, with knowledge of solvent recycling technologies and waste management practices.
  • Understanding of the key processes in tide manufacturing.
  • Project management expertise, with experience in designing and executing complex initiatives within manufacturing environments.
  • Passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to implementing sustainable practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assertiveness and negotiation skills in proceedings with stakeholders.
