Category Manager Large Business

Tasks / Responsibilities:

  • Lead the vendor evaluation and its related negotiations to build a new manufacturer base
  • Management of the vendor base including negotiations, contract management, stakeholder management, qualification management
  • Responsible for the creation/set-up and review of contracts, considering key strategic indicators, to ensure continuous supply and supplier compliance
  • Responsible for the management of the assigned category including long-term strategy, risk management and execution
  • Execution of operational activities related to Purchase to Pay (PtP) processes for the assigned category
  • Manage the initial initiation of the vendor qualification process and support the Vendor Qualification Group as a Subject Matter Expert for all Procurement related topics/tasks
  • Lead- and support cross-functional procurement initiatives
  • Set-up and perform the Vendor Performance Process and support the reporting of the category related KPIs

 

 

Skills

  • Experience in the chemical and/or pharmaceutical industry of at least 7 years
  • Extensive knowledge of the processes for Category Management and 5+ years hands-on experience in its execution for chemical raw materials
  • Extensive knowledge in Supplier Evaluation, Contract Management and Audits
  • Experienced in leading cross-functional projects
  • Very good communication skills and stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholders; assertive, convincing and conflict management skills required
  • Very good negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders including quality and cost savviness
  • Solution oriented and analytical thinking

 

Education

  • University Degree (or equivalent) in life science. Any additional degree is a plus
  • Proficiency level in English oral and written. German language skills is a plus
  • Market knowledge of chemical raw material procurement is a benefit
  • Good SAP knowledge
