Category Manager Large Business
Tasks / Responsibilities:
- Lead the vendor evaluation and its related negotiations to build a new manufacturer base
- Management of the vendor base including negotiations, contract management, stakeholder management, qualification management
- Responsible for the creation/set-up and review of contracts, considering key strategic indicators, to ensure continuous supply and supplier compliance
- Responsible for the management of the assigned category including long-term strategy, risk management and execution
- Execution of operational activities related to Purchase to Pay (PtP) processes for the assigned category
- Manage the initial initiation of the vendor qualification process and support the Vendor Qualification Group as a Subject Matter Expert for all Procurement related topics/tasks
- Lead- and support cross-functional procurement initiatives
- Set-up and perform the Vendor Performance Process and support the reporting of the category related KPIs
Skills
- Experience in the chemical and/or pharmaceutical industry of at least 7 years
- Extensive knowledge of the processes for Category Management and 5+ years hands-on experience in its execution for chemical raw materials
- Extensive knowledge in Supplier Evaluation, Contract Management and Audits
- Experienced in leading cross-functional projects
- Very good communication skills and stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholders; assertive, convincing and conflict management skills required
- Very good negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders including quality and cost savviness
- Solution oriented and analytical thinking
Education
- University Degree (or equivalent) in life science. Any additional degree is a plus
- Proficiency level in English oral and written. German language skills is a plus
- Market knowledge of chemical raw material procurement is a benefit
- Good SAP knowledge
