For Bachem’s fast-growing Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) of Oligonucleotides, located in Bubendorf, Switzerland, we have an exciting opportunity to be engaged in customer projects.

 

Your tasks

  • Acts as single point of contact within R&D/manufacturing for the Business Development (BD) team
  • Accountable for the generation of proposals including cost estimates meeting customers’ needs
  • Responsible for the evaluation and translation of RFIs and RFPs into project scope, timelines, costs and pricing, together with colleagues from BD, Project Management, Quality units, and Supply Chain
  • Scope definition based on information from subject matter experts and interdisciplinary team members; generation of technical proposals according to customer RFI/RFP
  • Estimation of production requirements such as batch size, production time, cycle times, capacities and timelines
  • Organization of internal meetings to align team and assure collection of critical information; self-driven collection of relevant data
  • Presentation of scope, work packages and costing to Oligonucleotide management and Business Development for approval and pricing
  • Analysis of manufacturing costs, identification of cost drivers, process bottlenecks, and creation of flow charts to visualize the manufacturing processes
  • Participation in continuous improvement processes, e.g. for cost reduction
  • Active participation in the review and ongoing development and improvement of existing tools to perform accurate cost estimations

 

Your profile

  • Doctorate in chemistry or a related field
  • Knowledge of chemical or biotechnological production processes
  • A structured, goal-oriented, independent, and precise way of working that allows you to keep an overview at all times
  • Great reliability and high sense of responsibility
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written German and English
  • Very experienced handling of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to work in a matrix team desirable (not a requirement)
  • Knowledge of the synthetic production of oligonucleotides and/or peptides
  • SAP skills
  • Business knowledge
