A brief overview

 

The Executive Business Manager (EBM) is a Senior Manager–level role within the President's Office, responsible for enabling effective leadership governance, disciplined execution, and cross site alignment across Bachem Americas. The EBM acts as a trusted implementation partner to the President, ensuring leadership meetings and forums are decision focused and actions are clearly owned and implemented across the Executive Leadership. This role helps leaders focus on the highest value priorities, surfaces risks and misalignment, and ensures leadership intent translates into coordinated action. The role operates with high autonomy, sound judgment, and strict confidentiality.

 

What you will do

 

  • Partner with the President to prepare and run leadership meetings, forums, and key external engagements, ensuring decision‑focused agendas, clear outcomes, and effective follow‑up
  • Own leadership governance within the President’s Office, including decision logs, action tracking, ensuring decisions are documented, actions are tracked to closure, escalation paths are used when needed, and leadership meeting standards and cadence are applied consistently across sites.
  • Prepare and coordinate executive and site-levels communications for the President and Site Leaders (i.e. townhalls, Bachnet, social media, etc.), and partner closely with the Global Communication Team.
  • Lead cross‑functional improvement initiatives, defining scope, objectives, and success criteria; coordinate implementation across sites and functions escalating risks or barriers as needed. Ensure measurable outcomes, benefits realization, and sustained improvements.
  • Analyze key business and operational data to spot trends, risks, and performance gaps, and prepare executive‑level reports and summaries, highlighting what is changing, what is at risk, and where leadership decisions or actions are needed.
  • Oversee executive level meetings, offsites, and leadership events in partnership with administrative support teams, focusing on outcomes rather than logistics.
  • Manage executive level confidential information, applying judgment on access, distribution, and escalation of sensitive materials and discussions.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences or related field or
  • Master’s degree in business, life sciences or related field (preferred)
  • 8+ years’ experience in executive enablement, business operations, program management, or leadership support roles
  • 5+ years of direct exposure to senior leadership teams and complex organizational dynamics
  • Experience in regulated (biotech/pharma/manufacturing) environments
  • Executive level written and verbal communication
  • Leadership meeting facilitation and governance discipline
  • Structured follow through and execution discipline
  • Data analysis and insight generation
  • Ability to influence senior leaders without formal authority
  • Strong judgment and discretion with sensitive information
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Ability to operate across multiple sites
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, including offsite events and one day per week at our Vista, CA facility

 

 

Base salary range: $131,440 - $180,730

 

Placement of new hires in this wage range is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
