The Bachem Group is planning a future site in Sisslefeld in Northwestern Switzerland. As part of Bachem’ s long-term strategy, the planned site is expected to strengthen the company’s global manufacturing network and to expand future production capacity. The project offers a unique opportunity to help shape one of the most significant pharmaceutical CAPEX investments in Switzerland. To strengthen our Global Project organization, we are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Procurement Lead (a) 100%.

 

Your responsibilities:

 

Lead the procurement workstream of Bachem Sisslerfeld and act as the single procurement point of contact. Coordinate all procurement activities across Category Managers, Engineering, PMO and project leadership while ensuring optimal commercial outcomes.

 

  • Act as Procurement Project Lead (PPL) for the Bachem Sisslerfeld Program and serve as the single point of contact for all project procurement activities.
  • Define and drive the overall procurement, sourcing and commercial strategy in close alignment with Project Management and Engineering.
  • Coordinate and align procurement activities across all CAPEX Category Managers responsible for Construction, Equipment, Installation & Interieur, Automation and Engineering Services. 
  • Support and partially lead commercial negotiations and award recommendations for major contracts, strategic suppliers and critical project packages.
  • Own procurement governance, risk management and ensure reporting across the project procurement portfolio.
  • Partner closely with Legal to support contract reviews of complex contracts, orders and amendments,
  • Prepare and drive claims and commercial disputes in cooperation with the Category Manager, Legal and PMO.
  • Drive contract and change order management, ensuring commercial risks and opportunities are identified and properly managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Represent Procurement in project leadership meetings, steering committees and executive stakeholder reviews.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and interface to Project Leadership on procurement, contractual and commercial matters
  • Ensure alignment with Bachem procurement standards, policies and governance requirements.

 

Your profile:

 

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Law, Economics or a related discipline; additional qualifications in Procurement, Contract Management, Project Management, Commercial or Legal Management are a strong advantage.
  • 10-15+ years of experience in Procurement, Commercial and Contract Management within large CAPEX projects, ideally in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, industrial manufacturing or construction sector.
  • Proven track record in managing complex procurement packages, strategic suppliers and high-value commercial negotiations across major project delivery models (EPCM, EPC, Construction Management).
  • Strong expertise in contract lifecycle management, claims management, change orders, dispute resolution and risk allocation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional and matrix organizations, collaborating effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic procurement mindset combined with strong commercial acumen, business judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, including executive-level interactions.
  • Collaborative and resilient personality with a high level of ownership, accountability and the ability to drive results in demanding project environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
