Bachem’s  Summer Internship Program

 

Bachem’s 10 week Summer Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students a hands-on introduction to the pharmaceutical industry at one of the world’s leading, innovation‑driven company specializing in the development and manufacture of peptide and oligonucleotide based active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and related products.

 

Designed to provide meaningful, real-world experience, this program allows interns to apply academic knowledge in a collaborative, research-focused environment while working alongside experienced industry professionals. Throughout the internship, participants will contribute to impactful projects, build technical and professional skills, and gain insight into Bachem’s scientific excellence, quality-driven culture, and global operations.

The program will run 10 weeks

  • Session 1:    May 26 -  August 14 (California State University Track)
  • Session 2:    June 22 – September 11 (UC Track)  

 

**All selected interns will be required to obtain their own housing, travel, and transportation accommodations for the full duration of the internship program.

Job Summary:

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting core HR initiatives, with a focus on process improvement, employee experience, and program coordination. The intern will play a key role in supporting onboarding enhancements, internship program engagement, and feedback mechanisms that drive continuous improvement.

 

What you will do

 

  • Partner with HR and external vendors (SuccessFactors and HireRight) to help establish a seamless integration (“bridge”) between systems, including supporting project coordination and initial setup activities
  • Assist in the design and implementation of a new hire experience survey, including tracking and reporting on results
  • Coordinate and facilitate Intern Lunch & Learn sessions, including scheduling, communications, and content support
  • Develop and launch an intern feedback survey to capture insights on the overall internship experience
  • Create a manager feedback tool to gather end-of-program evaluations of intern performance and program effectiveness
  • Support general HR projects and administrative tasks as needed, including documentation, reporting, and process improvement initiatives
  • Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.

 

Qualifications – Education and Experience

 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with HR systems is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and interest in HR processes and employee experience
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 or higher
  • Able to start on either May 26th or June 22nd
  • Ability to complete the consecutive 10 week internship
  • Must have work authorization in the United States at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

 

Base Hourly Ranges:

 

    • Freshman rising Sophomore - $20/hour 
    • Sophomore rising Junior - $21/hour
    • Junior rising Senior - $22/hour
    • Senior graduate or enrolled Fall 2026 - $23/hour
