A brief overview
The Technical Trainer works closely with BAM leaders to develop and deliver technical training and to ensure that new hires are well-trained and ready to perform effectively. The Technical Trainer will be responsible for delivering targeted and successful training programs, assessing effectiveness and making improvements, as needed. This individual will collaborate closely with the Technical Training team in Switzerland to establish harmonized processes. This individual will be a key champion in improving the BAM New Hire Experience. A successful candidate will have proven experience in a pharmaceutical production environment, leadership experience, be able to utilize instructional design best practices and processes and adult learning methodologies, and have a passion for developing team members.
What you will do

Conducts and presents training session curriculum at both Bachem Americas sites. Instructs participants in a specific subject area utilizing training techniques such as lectures, role playing exercises, individual coaching, demonstrations, and workshops.

Develops training session plans, lesson guides, and training aids. Writes training manuals and prepares instructional guides, examinations, troubleshooting techniques, and other training session support materials.

Employs adult learning techniques to formulate teaching outlines and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.

Trains and coaches OJT trainers

Develops training goals, objectives, and requirements. Develops participant qualification requirements. Identifies and develops solutions to training problem areas.

Determines, develops and analyzes metrics and evaluation feedback to make recommendations for improving curriculum and programs.

Champions the New Hire Experience in the Manufacturing organization working collaboratively with leaders, OJT instructors, and new hires. Deploys and implements strategy to improve integration of new team members.

Maintains records of learning and development activities including attendance, assessment results, engagement, and retraining requirements. Coordinates ETP grant funding and related reporting.

Tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.

Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in learning and development

Maintains effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with team members and management.

Maintains a database of all training materials
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's Degree Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline Required

4-6 years Manufacturing experience in a regulated environment, preferably in Pharma or a CDMO Req and

1-3 years Supervisory or management experience in manufacturing, preferably in Pharma or a CDMO Req and

1-3 years Experience in delivering training and developing and delivering presentations Req

Must have knowledge of GMP requirements and manufacturing processes. Experience in peptides is a plus.

Must have ability and desire to learn multiple design and delivery methods, and gain a working knowledge about, and train others in GMP pharmaceutical API manufacturing processes.

Must have demonstrated ability to train and mentor staff to higher levels of performance

Ability to create and present effective training for groups of 5-50 team members.

A combination of education and relevant experience where the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position’s duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.

Base Annual Salary Range:
- Technical Trainer: $83,360 to $114,620
- Sr Technical Traininer : 99,360 - 136,620
Placement of new hires in these wage ranges is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
