A brief overview  

 

The Senior Process Improvement Specialist is responsible for the collection, statistical analysis and visualization of production data to support the manufacturing team in increasing process performance, robustness and efficiency.  The Specialist will identify and apply appropriate analytical techniques to gather data, identify areas of improvement and recommend necessary process controls or other actions to increase process efficiency. They will be working as an individual contributor while reporting to the production department and coordinating with other involved functional areas as well as other sites if necessary. The Specialist will work as the key user of SAP for Production and Production related activities. The Specialist will have a significant impact on manufacturing strategies and in the assessment of the product portfolio. 

 

What you will do

 

  • Analyze selected manufacturing processes, identify and apply appropriate analytical techniques to gather data, identify areas of improvement, and recommend necessary process controls or other actions to increase process efficiency
  • Compile and analyze data from ongoing and historical manufacturing activities in order to provide actionable information and recommendations to the management team. 
  • Generate Key Performance Indicators to provide a focus for strategic and operational improvements and creates the analytical basis for decision making and help focus attention on what matters most
  • The specialist will be trained as SAP key user entering process data in support of manufacturing activities on daily basis.
  • Assist team leaders and manage schedules, enter data using planning systems, and coordinate production activities. This may include communications to vendors, other departments, or customers for time-sensitive material
  • Follow specific instructions to compile, prepare and report data and information. Analyze nature and scope of routine problems and resolve or provide information for resolution. Maintain detailed records and logs
  • Provide back-up services to support Manufacturing and Quality Department functions including MBPR and SOP review/revision. Will also provide support for deviations, tracking CAPAs, and investigation documents 
  • Maintain and update SAP, individual manufacturing hours, inventory and schedules with planning and other associates for timely deliver
  • Train other team members to perform data analysis
  • Identify causes of variability in multi-stage production processes
  • Utilize process maps and trend analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in manufacturing processes
  • Present findings to stakeholders using PowerPoint, graphs, charts, etc.
  • May perform additional service duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • BA/BS in Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, Pharmacology or related field
  • Exposure to reporting tools such as Hyperion/Brio or other higher levels of statistical software
  • Minimum one-year SAP experience
  • Minimum of six years’ experience working in a cGMP environment
  • Experience with statistical analysis applied to pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Understanding of analytical chemistry such as HPLC, LC-MS, GC etc.
  • Knowledge and minimum one-year experience of FDA regulations
  • SAP transactions, and ability for SAP troubleshooting
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills; work independently
  • Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical and analytical problems.
  • Strong understanding of interdependencies with cross-functional stakeholders and business implications of decisions.
  • Positive and determined attitude with the ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner; keep management informed of potential issues
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time

 

Preferred

 

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience with project management and oral presentations
  • Knowledge of regulatory and ISO standards

 

 

 

Base Salary Range: $65,600 - $90,200   

 

Placement of new hires in this wage range is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
