Manager, Research Sales

Your Responsibilities

The Research Sales Manager is responsible for actively selling Bachem’s research products and services by contacting prospective and established customers. The Research Sales Manager will design sales plans and coordinate sales activities to meet established goals and business forecasts.  The Research Sales Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Research Sales Representatives through motivation, encouragement and leadership.


Your Tasks

·         Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programs to achieve growth and expands company’s customer base

·         Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs

·         Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts

·         Present applicable company capabilities as benefits to prospective customers

·         Identify growth areas and recommend expansion of product offering to capitalize on purchasing trends

·         Coordinate and manage ongoing projects to ensure that deliverables, time lines, quality standards and customer expectations are met

·         Present sales reports and realistic forecasts to the management team

·         Maintain and update all customer related information and relevant communications in the ERP and CRM systems

·         Establish training programs for the research sales representatives

·         Attend trade shows, conferences and customer visits as required to support Bachem sales and marketing efforts

·         Maintain training in all peptide-related fields and expand expertise to other product offerings as required


Your Profile


·         BS in Science field (chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, biology or equivalent)

·         Experience in pharmaceutical or fine chemical sales

·         3-5 years directly related experience

·         Experience working with ERP and CRM systems

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills

·         Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

·         Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment

·         Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues

·         Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems

·         Ability to work independently and manage one’s time

·         Communicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environment



·         Masters and/or PHD Degree
