A brief overview


A Production Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the manufacturing process and ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. The Production Manager will assist the Director of Production in ensuring that all resources are assigned skillfully and efficiently for the manufacture of products while meeting timelines, quality, and quantity. The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of GMP-compliant manufacturing operations. This includes ensuring safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and efficient production performance. The role supports the introduction of new products and technologies, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration.


What you will do

 

  • Manage and develop production teams, including recruitment, training, and performance management for peptide (and/or oligo) manufacturing

  • Collaboration between Production department and other supporting departments such as Supply Chain, Materials Management, QC, and QA to ensure all necessary resources are available and utilized effectively

  • Supervise, address and resolve any issues that arise with all peptide manufacturing stages which include: Synthesis, cleavage, (or) purification, reconstitution and lyophilization

  • Supervise in-process analysis in all manufacturing stages (USP or DSP stages)

  • Assign tasks for team members and follow up on completion

  • Ensure compliance that written procedures (SOP, BPR) and cGMP guidelines are followed to meet quality standards

  • Review and complete cGMP documentation

  • Adhere to manufacturing schedules and timelines

  • Propose technical and chemical improvements of the manufacturing process

  • Ensure safe, efficient and conscious use of the instruments, raw materials and other resources

  • Enforce health and safety regulations to maintain a safe and secure working environment.


Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent field

  • Master's Degree or PhD (Preferred)

  • Minimum 5 years laboratory experience

  • Experience as a supervisor, team leader, or project manager

  • 8 years of experience as a production chemist or peptide manufacturing in a cGMP environment (Preferred)

  • Familiar with scientific equipment and utilities including but not limited to production (Preferred)

  • 1-3 years working experience with cGMP manufacturing, safety regulations and documentation standards (Preferred)

  • Proficient with various in-process analytical methods

  • Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems

  • Experience in Organic Chemistry

  • Experience with manufacturing equipment such as reactors for commercial scale 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment

  • Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues

  • Communicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environment

  • Advanced PC knowledge including planning tools


Base Annual Salary Range: $114,302 - $157,166

 

Placement of new hires in these wage ranges is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
