A brief overview

 

The Director of Accounting position is a part of the Global Accounting function. This position will be responsible for directing and coordinating all accounting and reporting functions and supervision of the accounting team.

 

What you will do

 

  • Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable working to drive detailed cross-functional process discussions within the Purchase-to-Pay workflow and the Order-to-Cash workflow
  • Coordinate, manage and prepare the monthly close and financial statements
  • Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of the business results
  • Oversee general ledger postings and reconciliations within the overall Record-to-Report workflow.
  • Provide management with vital financial information and analysis
  • Drive and support mission-critical cross-functional business and system process discussions vertically, horizontally, and throughout matrix organizational structures.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
  • Assess and strengthen accounting and internal control systems
  • Oversee compliance and regulatory- income tax, sales tax
  • Present and share information effectively and respond to questions from both internal and external constituencies
  • Provide financial advice and support to local business managers.
  • Coordinate local insurance program with guidance from global setup and coordinating and facilitating interim and annual financial audits

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar discipline
  • 8+ years’ experience in accounting/finance
  • Public accounting experience
  • SAP experience
  • Manufacturing/life science work experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Swiss GAAP FER (preferred)
  • Must possess strong leadership, communication, technology, and analytical skills
  • Must possess strong knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ERP
  • Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment
  • Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
  • Communicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environment
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (preferred)

 

 

Base Salary Range: $129,520 - $178,090


Placement of new hires in these wage ranges is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
