Construction Engineer Lead
A brief overview
The Construction Engineer Lead will oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will ensure that all aspects of the construction process are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Construction Engineer Lead will coordinate and supervise construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors, as well as liaise with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure the project is completed successfully.
What you will do
- Project Management: Oversee all stages of the construction process, from planning to execution and completion. Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and other legal requirements.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and lead construction teams, including subcontractors and vendors. Foster a collaborative, productive, and safe work environment.
- Budget and Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective project execution. Identify any budget variances and implement corrective actions.
- Schedule Management: Maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring deadlines are met. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services.
- Quality Control: Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards. Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve any issues related to quality, safety, or compliance.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols are followed on site and that workers are trained in safety procedures. Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant construction site at all times.
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to construction activities and take proactive steps to mitigate those risks. Handle unexpected issues or delays efficiently and professionally.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, change orders, contracts, permits, and other essential documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in construction management or similar role
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project, etc.).
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Certification (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Associate Constructor (AC), or LEED accreditation) is preferred
Base Salary Range: $96,643 - $125,068
Placement in this wage range is based on several factors, including education, skill set, experience, and training.
