To support our continued organic growth, we are seeking an experienced Sales Manager Generics Portfolio (f/m/d) 100% to join our global team. In this role, based in Japan, you will be responsible for developing and managing strategic customer relationships across the region, helping to advance affordable healthcare solutions through our portfolio of generic peptide APIs.

At Bachem, you will collaborate with a dedicated, cross-functional team of specialists from production, quality control, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and project management. Our modern ERP and CRM tools (SAP, Salesforce) will support you in delivering excellence.
Your tasks:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of Bachem’s product portfolio, market trends, and industry landscape
- Strategically grow your sales territory by identifying new opportunities and strengthening existing relationships
- Plan and execute customer visits to foster trust and collaboration
- Lead price and contract negotiations to drive business value
- Manage the end-to-end sales process, from quote generation to on-time delivery
- Serve as the key contact for assigned customers, responding to inquiries related to quality, regulatory filings, GMP production, and analytics with the support of dedicated SMEs
- Promote high customer satisfaction through clear communication and proactive support
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in our CRM system
- Contribute to forecasting, demand planning, market strategy, and product lifecycle discussions
- Act as a subject matter expert in LCM, coordinating internal efforts to deliver on project goals
- Represent Bachem at international exhibitions, strengthening our brand and cultivating new business opportunities
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, life sciences, or business
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in technical sales or strategic sourcing within a CDMO/CMO context
- Familiarity with the APAC markets, preferably with existing networks in the APAC region
- Strong business acumen with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Excellent problem-solving skills and sound business judgment
- Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and results-oriented mindset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Fluent in English and/or other languages is a plus
- Comfortable using IT tools including MS Office; experience with ERP (SAP) and CRM (Salesforce) systems
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%, including to our headquarters in Bubendorf, Switzerland
