Group Leader QA - Project Management 100% (f/m/d)

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Group Leader QA Project Management to join an existing team within the QA Operations department. In this key role, you will be responsible for leading and developing your team as well as continuously enhancing Bachem’s quality system. Together with your team of QA Project Managers, you will make a direct and essential contribution to the active pharmaceutical ingredients manufactured for our customers. By collaborating closely with cross-functional departments, you will guide projects successfully from development through to market readiness.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage your organizational unit.
• Empower team members to make decisions within defined governance frameworks.
• Coach and mentor managers to strengthen their leadership and technical capabilities.
• Ensure competent QA support for product project teams.
• Actively participate as the QA representative in development and commercial project teams.
• Coordinate project-specific QA activities and serve as a key contact for other departments (e.g., Production, Quality Control, Project Management) regarding cGMP compliance and troubleshooting.
• Review and approve GMP documents, change controls, deviation reports, and CAPAs.
• Make decisions regarding GMP-relevant observations, deviations, and overall GMP compliance.
• Define control strategies and lifecycle strategies from GMP development through process validation to support commercial manufacturing.
• Serve as the primary QA contact for internal and external stakeholders and represent QA in meetings between Bachem and clients.

Your Profile

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, or a comparable technical field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in project management and quality assurance within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
• Proven leadership skills and experience in team development.
• Strong understanding of QA topics, solid cGMP knowledge (EU-GMP, FDA), and experience supporting process validations including risk management.
• Structured, solution-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities, capable of conveying complex topics clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Fast learner with a resilient, service-oriented, and flexible mindset who thrives in team environments and makes confident decisions.
• Excellent English skills (minimum C1) and good German skills (minimum B2).
