Group Leader Event Management (f/m 100%)

We are looking for an experienced Group Leader Event Management (w/m 100%) for our Global Marketing Team. In this challenging role, you will be in charge of Bachem’s digital and live events strategy, including webinars and associated activities. You are the first point of contact to the Director Digital & Events Marketing for all tradeshow, events, webinars and giveaways related aspects. You are a positive, creative and agile personality with the ability to work independently in a global matrix organization.


Your responsibilities

  • Assign tasks to the group members, while ensure a high quality of work, efficient processes and high deadline reliability
  • Define tradeshow, event and digital events / virtual congresses / webinar strategy. Contribute to Bachem`s Marketing strategy and align both. Make sure that the work and projects portfolio is in line with these strategies
  • Ensure and improve work efficiency by streamlining of processes.
  • Lead the Event Management team in all personnel aspects, such as recruiting of new employees, changes in employment of existing employees, definition of personal targets, performance and target achievement reviews, employee development, specific personal topics of the employees
  • Manage the Tradeshow budget and participate in the Marketing budgeting process
  • First point of contact for all tradeshow, event and webinar activities, and for all relevant stakeholders, such as Sales, BD (Business Development), other Marketing functions, Production, R&D and CEC
  • Perform regular and frequent communication with all relevant stakeholders (see above), to make sure to understand the needs and to foster the exchange of relevant information within Bachem
  • Support strategic in-house committees and board meetings with strategic tradeshow, events and webinar planning with all relevant collaterals.
  • Strategic planning of tradeshows, events and digital events / virtual congresses / webinars taking relevant stakeholders (e.g. Business Development, Sales, CEC) into account
  • Planning and execution of tradeshows, events and digital events / virtual congresses / webinars according to plan (focus group and product specific).
  • Steering of post-event tasks for evaluation, KPI and other assessment.
  • Continuous evaluation and management of customer presents and giveaways
  • Budgeting according to the proposed activities of Relationship Marketing. Monitoring of the budget
  • Support in budgeting and forecasting for the following year.
  • Provide input for Bachem’s Social Media campaigns
  • Provide and manage advertisement plan (digital and print), mailing pan (e.g. invites) and marketing campaigns.
  • Manage the Bachem Website, meaning content update and maintenance
  • Manage preparation and publishing of the employee magazine InSights

Your qualifications

  • Marketing or Event Manager with more than 5 years working experience in the field
  • Bachelor`s Degree possible with adequate work experience
  • Preferred area of study: marketing, event management, studies in the field of life sciences, chemistry, bio sciences or pharmacy is an advantage
  • Scientific background to understand the core products of Bachem and to communicate with stakeholders in an efficient way is an advantage
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Experience in leading teams and managing people with direct reports is a plus
  • Experience with C(D)MO manufacturing or services, pharma or biotech manufacturing or drug development is a plus
  • Fluent in English and German, excellence in written English
  • Skilled in digital marketing, in online platforms for webinars and social media, with own, thorough user experiences
  • Expert knowledge in office applications
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM tools is a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
