The Digital Technology Partner R&D is a strategic digital leader and integral member of the R&D Leadership Team, ensuring that digital strategy, innovation and technology execution are aligned with R&D priorities. The role bridges science and technology by translating R&D needs into scalable digital solutions and driving reliable, compliant digital transformation across the R&D landscape.
Your tasks:
- Co‑create the digital strategy and multi‑year roadmap for R&D together with the R&D Leadership Team
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, lab automation, advanced analytics, data platforms) to unlock scientific and operational value.
- Represent IT in the R&D leadership context, ensuring alignment with global IT strategy, architecture and cybersecurity standards.
- Drive portfolio prioritization and ensure digital investments support R&D’s strategic objectives and value creation.
- Act as the primary strategic partner for all digital topics within R&D and a trusted advisor to scientific and operational leaders.
- Develop deep understanding of R&D end‑to‑end processes and proactively translate needs into digital solutions that improve productivity, quality and speed.
- Ensure cross‑functional alignment across sites and global teams to maximize reuse, scalability and standardization of digital solutions.
- Co‑manage the shared R&D/IT budget for the digital roadmap, ensuring transparent prioritization, cost effectiveness and value realization.
- Own and evolve the digital technology landscape for R&D, including applications, platforms, data models, automation tools and integrations.
- Act as product owner/solution lead for key R&D systems, ensuring lifecycle success from strategy → implementation → run → retirement.
- Ensure successful delivery by coordinating with architecture, delivery, cybersecurity and vendors, manage external partners and serve as escalation point for critical issues
- Drive change management, adoption and digital literacy, embedding training, onboarding and communications into each initiative.
Your profile:
- Degree in Information Technology, Life Sciences, Engineering or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in digital strategy, business partnering, product ownership, or technology leadership, ideally within an R&D or scientific environment.
- Strong understanding of laboratory and research processes, scientific data flows and digital tools used in R&D (ELN, LIMS, CDS, SDMS, automation platforms, analytics environments, etc.).
- Experience in a CMO/CDMO or regulated environment (GxP) is a strong advantage.
- Solid grasp of enterprise architecture, data integrity, cybersecurity and modern digital delivery models.
