A brief overview

 

The Manager of Materials Management is responsible for ensuring that finished products and starting materials are dispensed to meet crucial production and shipping schedules. They will manage personnel within the Materials Management Department. Ensuring that all cGMP requirements are followed and adhered to by the team. Supervisory responsibilities include the dispensation of final products and raw materials, daily receiving, sampling, and routine shipments of solvents and reagents between the sites, including maintaining accurate inventories, overseeing the movement and storage of goods, and ensuring the safety of workers and equipment. The Manager of Materials Management also interfaces with Quality Assurance, Customers, and Regulatory Agencies during audits.

 

What you will do

 

  • Developing the team to allow them to perform in an optimal way, ensuring they are adequately trained in all relevant SOPs.
  • Analyzing and assessing processes and working instructions and proposing and implementing new concepts and improvements in Materials Management. Documenting processes and improvements in an adequate and compliant way.
  • Ensure the Materials Management team, through the manager's direction, schedules and coordinates the labeling, weighing, dispensing, bottling, vialing, and sampling of products and materials controlled.
  • Ensure the Materials Management team, through the manager's direction, schedules and coordinates the labeling, dispensing/weighing of finished products for testing/analysis, and filling orders for shipment to customers
  • Ensure Materials Management completes all required documentation precisely and accurately
  • Maintaining stock levels for designated inventory within the facility. Perform routine inventory counting and reconciliation.
  • Implementing physical transactions and the proper documentation of each transaction
  • Operating in a cleanroom environment and complying with cleanliness standards
  • Complying with cGMP and other agency standards and practices as it relates to pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Maintaining proper segregation and storage of all materials and finished products
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure projects and tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Perform routine cleaning of all areas controlled by Materials Management

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, materials management or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 5 years materials management/ logistics experience
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisor experience
  • Inventory experience
  • Logistics experience in a GMP facility
  • Ability to handle a variety of chemicals while wearing the necessary protective equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write procedures, routine reports and correspondence
  • Basic understanding of Math and Chemistry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Expert computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment
  • Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues
  • Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
  • Communicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environment
  • Inventory Control Software knowledge

 

 

 

Base Salary Range: $90,880 - $124,960
  

Placement of new hires in these wage ranges is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
